Should I sell on ebay?

July 4th, 2010

I bought 4 pairs of nice vintage earrings at an antique shop, all are from the 6's and in pretty good condition but need a little cleaning. They are all flower clip ons, one pair are white clay/poceline type roses with pink in the middle, the next pair are pink metal flowers with a pink gem in the middle, and the others are purple flower/roses and you screw the backings to adjsut to your ear lobe and the last pair I'm keeping for myself. Should I sell them for 7-10$ on ebay I bought them all for very good prices and if I sold them at 10 I'd be making only a few dollars profit.
The shipping would be the price of 37$ cents (I'd mail them in envelopes) I bought 1 pair for 2 dollars, 2 pairs for 5dollars, and 1 pair for 10 (really heavey duty and gold plated)

by the time you add up your ebay fees, shipping costs, gas to get to the post office, etc. you’re not going to make much money. also, if you accept paypal, there are fees with that, as well. and if you just ship in envelopes, someone is going to complain, and rightfully so, that they got damaged in transit. add insurance to your shipping costs, or at least the cost of a padded envelope. i would never ship anything that has any dimension to it in just an envelope. but, there is always the remote chance that they are truly valuable and you might get more than expected. go to ebay and check the prices to anything similar to what you have, then decide. good luck.

7 bucks at a vintage botique???? its not worth it………………………..unless ur one of those loozers that make the shipping stupidly high……….

  5. RainCloud

You should try to sell them for as much as possible, if that is truly what you want to do.

  6. Mr.Deeds

well.. if it wre me id probably have given them away, considering the low prices…

  7. effin chrisTY

if you have no use for them. there are millions of people on ebay. you’ll probably find a few buyers. quite possibly someone who had a favorite similar pair from that era.

    good luck.
